Onward to Orientation

Seminar Air Date: November 18, 2014

North Carolina’s Child Care Licensing Law requires that newly employed staff receive 16 hours of child care orientation during their initial six weeks of employment. As a part of NC’s Early Learning Challenge Grants through Race to the Top, the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education and the NC Child Care Resource and Referral Council are currently developing a 40 hour on-line orientation course for newly hired staff. Ila Teague, a former NC DCDEE Regulatory Manager, and Betty Denkler from NC’s Child Care Resource and Referral Council will discuss the components of the course, summaries of the first initial field testing, and plans for upcoming state-wide dissemination.
